As we move into December and approach the new year, many of us are already thinking ahead to 2026—setting resolutions, outlining ambitious goals, and imagining the life we want to create. And rightly so. The coming year holds massive potential for growth, transformation, and change.

But before you start writing out another list of New Year’s goals, it’s worth looking at how we create those goals—and why most people never achieve them.

I’ve spent my life fascinated by the human experience, human potential, and what it takes to truly optimize life. My career has spanned the world of physical performance—working with the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2016 to 2019, traveling through the world of sports physiology, massage therapy, nutrition, and earning my graduate degree from the University of Miami where I supported the Miami football program. I’ve trained professional athletes, college athletes, and everyday people striving to build their dream lives.

Then my journey took me into meditation, breathwork, and a powerful yogic lineage known as Kundalini Yoga from Northern India. This blend of Western performance and Eastern mysticism ultimately shaped Zen Shred—a philosophy that brings us back to our beingness. After all, we are human beings, not human doings.

And when it comes to creating goals, that distinction matters more than we think.

Why Most People Fail: The Trap of Reactive Creation

Most people create goals from a “reactive” place. Take someone trying to lose 30 pounds. They don’t like their current body, habits, or energy levels. They want to escape their present circumstances.

So they create a goal that exists somewhere in the future—a future where they weigh less, feel better, or look different.

But here’s the problem:

Reactive creation always produces resistance.

When your desire is rooted in not liking where you are, you automatically push against your present reality. Your mind resists, your nervous system resists, and eventually your habits collapse under the pressure.

This is why people give up.

Not because they’re lazy.
Not because they don’t want it.
But because they’re fighting themselves the whole time.

The Identity Problem: Behaviors Don’t Stick Without Inner Change

You can try every diet, workout plan, or productivity hack in the world, but without an identity shift, long-term change is almost impossible.

If deep down you believe:

“I’m overweight.”
“I’m not enough.”
“I’m inconsistent.”
“I’m not the type of person who succeeds.”

…then any new behavior you adopt will eventually snap back to match your old identity. This is why people lose weight, only to gain it back. It’s why they start new habits, only to abandon them. Their subconscious blueprint hasn’t shifted.

Your nervous system, breath, posture, and even your organs store emotional imprints and past conditioning. Those patterns drive your automatic behaviors.

Without addressing identity, you can modify your actions—but your being stays the same.


The Real Path: Proactive Creation

Proactive creation is an entirely different process. Instead of trying to escape your current reality, you start by accepting and loving yourself exactly where you are.

You may not like being 30 pounds overweight.
You may not like your finances.
You may not like your mental habits or relationship patterns.

But you can still choose to love and accept yourself in this moment.

Acceptance does not mean complacency.
It removes resistance.

When you remove resistance, you create space for transformation.

Proactive creation asks you to tune into the future version of yourself right now—not as a fantasy in the distance, but as a felt experience in the present moment.

Here’s the insight most people miss:

We don’t actually desire the thing—we desire the feeling we think the thing will give us.

Weight loss?
We want confidence, strength, energy, vitality.

Financial success?
We want freedom, safety, expansion, opportunity.

Love?
We want connection, warmth, intimacy, belonging.

And feelings can be accessed right now through energy, breath, and identity—not only after achieving the goal.


Your Future Self Exists in Frequency, Not Time

The future doesn’t exist anywhere except in the constructs of your mind. It has never happened—not even once. Which means:

Your relationship with the “future” is flexible.
Your identity is flexible.
Your energy is flexible.

If you tune into the emotional frequency of your future self today, you begin creating from alignment instead of resistance.

That’s when you become “wind-assisted” instead of battling against your own current.

When you feel good—when you’re peaceful, relaxed, energized, or centered—your mind quiets, your nervous system opens, and you become capable of receiving the ideas, opportunities, and inspiration life is trying to give you.

Life wants to support you.
It wants to bring you the people, resources, and pathways that match your highest good.

But it can only deliver those things to the version of you who can hold them.


The 2026 Creation Formula: Identity First, Behavior Second

If you want 2026 to be your most powerful year, here’s the real sequence:

1. Start With Identity

Who is the future version of you who already has the thing you want?

How do they breathe?
How do they think?
How do they feel about themselves?
How do they walk into a room?
What do they believe they deserve?

Tune into that person.

2. Shift Your Energy

Move from inadequacy → acceptance → self-love → empowerment.

Your energy determines your creations far more than your effort does.

3. Then Modify Behaviors

Once your identity shifts, behavior becomes natural—not forced.

There’s no resistance.
No burnout.
No collapse.
Just flow.


Final Insight: You Don’t Get What You Want—You Get Who You Are

The world reflects your internal state like a mirror.

If you believe you are inadequate, life will show you proof.
If you believe you are abundant, life will show you proof.
If you believe you are capable, powerful, worthy, whole—life will align with that too.

Your 2026 goals won’t be achieved through force.
They’ll be achieved through identity, resonance, alignment, and self-love.

This is the heart of Zen Shred:
Create from being, not from lack.

When you shift who you are, what you want becomes inevitable.

Build Dream Body – Embody Highest Self – Live from Presence

At ten years old, Michael was told he had the spine of an eighty-year-old man. A hunchback, chronic pain, and years of unsuccessful treatments through Western medicine left him searching for answers that doctors simply couldn’t provide. By twenty-two, after a failed back surgery, he faced a crossroads: accept a life of limitation, or turn inward and learn to heal from a deeper intelligence. That moment of collapse became the beginning of transformation. Through discipline, curiosity, and an almost supernatural drive for truth, he rebuilt his spine from the inside out — eventually running 100 miles on what doctors once called a “broken back.”

Life continued to reveal itself through synchronicity. Michael worked for the Arizona Diamondbacks — a team symbolized by a serpent — long before he understood that the very energy he needed to heal was encoded in the ancient symbol of Kundalini: the coiled serpent of human potential and energetic DNA. When Western solutions fell short, practices like breathwork, fasting, movement, meditation, and Kundalini Yoga unlocked the healing he had been seeking. By clearing conditioned thought patterns, regulating his emotional landscape, and reconnecting to the intelligence of life force, he reversed what specialists told him was impossible. What began as a quest to fix his body became a return to essence — a remembrance of the power, clarity, and divinity within the human system.

ZenShred was born from this lived awakening.  ZenShred is a synthesis of physical mastery, nervous system regulation, emotional intelligence, and spiritual awakening — a path that leads people back to their own life force, intuition, and purpose.
