The electronic music duo will take over Mesa Amphitheatre for two nights this September with a career-spanning set and their biggest production yet.
Some electronic acts come and go with the festival cycle. Zeds Dead has spent the better part of two decades building a world of its own.
Now, that world is coming to Mesa.
On Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19, Toronto electronic duo Zeds Dead will bring their Journey of a Lifetime tour to Mesa Amphitheatre, marking one of the biggest stops on the duo’s largest headlining tour to date. The Arizona dates are being produced by Relentless Beats and Low End Lab, with IMANU supporting Friday’s show and Ivy Lab joining Saturday’s lineup.
A 15-Year Celebration
Journey of a Lifetime is built around a simple idea: take fans through the full history of Zeds Dead.
Dylan Mamid and Zachary Rapp-Rovan first emerged from Toronto’s underground scene in 2009, throwing weekly Bassmentality parties and releasing music online before developing into one of North America’s most recognizable electronic acts.
Their sound has continued to evolve along the way, moving from early hip-hop-influenced dubstep and bass music into a much broader catalog spanning festival anthems, platinum-certified records, cinematic productions and genre-blurring collaborations.
The upcoming tour will pull from that entire history, including some of the duo’s earliest releases and Bassmentality-era material alongside their biggest records and more recent work.
For longtime fans, that means a rare opportunity to hear pieces of the Zeds Dead catalog that don’t necessarily make it into a typical festival set.
The Biggest Production They’ve Ever Toured
The music is only part of the experience.
According to Zeds Dead, Journey of a Lifetime will feature the most expansive production design they’ve ever taken on the road. The show’s visual world will build on the television and space-travel themes introduced during their Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness era.
The duo has also described the tour as a kind of culmination of everything they’ve been developing over the years, with new music, stage design and production all coming together for the run.
And there’s a reason they’re going this big.
Zeds Dead have said they’ll be taking some time away from touring in 2027, making these dates an especially significant moment for fans who have followed the duo throughout their career.
From Bassmentality to Deadrocks
It’s difficult to talk about Zeds Dead’s longevity without mentioning Deadbeats, the independent label and community the duo launched in 2016.
This year marks Deadbeats’ 10th anniversary, adding another milestone to an already significant year for the duo.
Their influence has also extended far beyond their own releases. Their annual Deadrocks residency at Red Rocks has sold out every year since 2014, becoming one of the defining multi-night events in North American bass music.
That evolution from underground weekly parties to sold-out destination events is a major part of what makes Journey of a Lifetime feel different from a standard tour.
This is a look back at the entire journey while simultaneously setting the stage for whatever comes next.
Two Nights in Mesa
Arizona fans will have two chances to experience the tour at Mesa Amphitheatre.
Friday, September 18 will feature support from IMANU, while Saturday, September 19 will bring Ivy Lab to the stage.
The rotating support lineup across the larger tour reflects the genre-fluid world Zeds Dead have built around themselves and Deadbeats, with other dates featuring artists including ALLEYCVT, Daily Bread, Deathpact, Dr. Fresch, Mary Droppinz, Moody Good and Whethan.
For the Mesa stop, the two-night format also gives fans a chance to experience two different supporting acts while Zeds Dead anchor both evenings with their career-spanning production.
